When this tool helps
Draft a reverse-domain application identifier when starting an Android or Flutter project. Choose a domain you control and a stable app name before publishing.
How to use this tool
Enter a domain followed by an application name, such as example.com shopping. Use a domain you control for a published app, and review the result before setting a permanent application ID.
A worked example
Input
example.com shoppingExpected result
com.example.shoppingEnter a simple two-part domain followed by an app name, separated by a space. This utility reverses the first two components and appends the remaining components; it also normalizes characters into identifier-like segments.
Edge cases and limitations
- This is a simple formatter, not a public-suffix parser. Multi-part domains such as example.co.uk and subdomains need manual review.
- Do not paste a full URL with a protocol, port, or path. Use the domain and application name only.
- An Android application ID and a source-code package can differ. Renaming an identifier in a live app has consequences beyond renaming a source folder.
Use the result in your app
For Android, review the applicationId and namespace in the generated Gradle file. For Flutter, use the organization prefix in the generator and inspect the platform identifiers after creating native runners.
Keep your workflow private
This utility processes input only in this tab. It does not upload or persist pasted content. Review generated output before using it in a production application.
